Alpine Angling Tours was founded back in 2004 by French fishing guide Stefan Hanff, after he had spent five years studying and working in the UK. The aim of the company is to provide full support to British anglers in order to let them experience French carp and coarse fishing at its best.

Our holidays combine guided access to well stocked venues suffering little fishing pressure, professional angling tuitions and top notch catering, all of it set in stunning landscapes and with unrivalled weather conditions. Stefan leans on both his successful match fishing past and a vast experience of specimen fishing across Europe to deliver high quality tuitions, to the standards expected from qualified coaches. On top of his five years of studies and work in England, Stefan also qualified in 2006 as an Angling Coach in the UK. He now works as a consultant for leading tackle manufacturer Fox International and bait developers Mistral Baits. Stefan is also chairman of The Alpine Carp Study Group, a strong congregation of carp and specimen anglers lobbying for the promotion of their sport. They have achieved the widening of night fishing stretches in the Region, and work closely with the Angling federation on stocking and venue management projects. There will also be a competition section opening for 2009, with Stefan coaching the younger ones in the view of taking part in the French Nationals.

Now in its fourth year of business, Stefan has widened the panel of services he provides as well as guided trips:
- Translation work for main tackle manufacturers,
- Consultancy for British run fisheries in France, in which Stefan leans on his partnership with angling authorities and his knowledge of the French regulations to offer advice and problem solving.
- Editorial work within the Fox panel of experts. Stefan has weekly columns published online every Friday on the Fox and Mistral websites.
Stefan’s strong partnerships with top tackle and bait suppliers allow us to offer cutting edge equipment to all our clients. We were the first this year to get people to fish with the Stratos MAG reels in France, and we will for next season shelter our anglers in the latest Fox bivvys range.
